چکیده
Conventional gradient-based full waveform inversion (FWI) is a local optimization, which highly dependent on the initial model and prone to trapping in minima. Globally optimal FWI that can overcome this limitation particularly attractive, but currently limited by huge amount of calculation. In paper, we propose globally framework based GPU parallel computing, greatly improves efficiency, expected make more widely used. framework, simplify recombine parameters, optimize iteratively. Each iteration contains hundreds individuals, each individual independent other, forward modeling cost function The suitable for variety algorithms, test with particle swarm optimization algorithm example. Both synthetic field examples achieve good results, indicating effectiveness framework.

Full waveform inversion with optimal basis functions.
Based on the approach suggested by Tarantola, and Gauthier et al., we show that the alternate use of the step (linear) function basis and the block function (quasi-delta function) basis can give accurate full waveform inversion results for the layered acoustic systems, starting from a uniform background. Our method is robust against additive white noise (up to 20% of the signal) and can resolve...
متن کاملAn optimal parameterization for full waveform inversion in anisotropic media
Full waveform inversion (FWI) in transversely isotropic media usually requires abundant a priori information, like well data and smoothness assumptions, to make the FWI converge to a plausible solution. The proper model parameterization in transversely isotropic (TI) media with a vertical symmetry axis (VTI) can alleviate some of these limitations. Considering the limitations of our field data ...
متن کاملFull-waveform inversion on heterogeneous HPC systems
We present a spectral-element implementation of full seismic waveform inversion for large heterogeneous HPC systems. In this we address the optimal parallelisation configurations of individual simulations, the large I/O requirements of adjoint simulations, and the scheduling of large numbers of forward and adjoint solves, typical for realistic inversions. Using GPU accelerators allows us to ach...
متن کاملImage-guided full waveform inversion
Multiple problems, including high computational cost, spurious local minima, and solutions with no geologic sense, have prevented widespread application of full waveform inversion (FWI), especially FWI of seismic reflections. These problems are fundamentally related to a large number of model parameters and to the absence of low frequencies in recorded seismograms. Instead of inverting for all ...
متن کاملA projected Hessian for full waveform inversion
A Hessian matrix in full waveform inversion (FWI) is difficult to compute directly because of high computational cost and an especially large memory requirement. Therefore, Newton-like methods are rarely feasible in realistic largesize FWI problems. We modify the BFGS method to use a projected Hessian matrix that reduces both the computational cost and memory required, thereby making a quasiNew...
